Day 4 - Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes, Dan Bature Preserve, Tel Dan and Caesarea Philippi

Our first stop today was at Caupernaum. Located on the North end of the Sea of Galilee, Caupernaum, was the town that Jesus performed most of His miracles. We toured the synagogue location where Jesus would have taught, viewed the ruins of the homes and storage and looked over the home of Peters Mother-in-Law who he raised from the dead. We took the time to split into groups and pray for our friends from home who were struggling with health or mental issues as this was a town of healing.

Just a short drive up the road we went to the Church of the Beatitudes. Though no one really knows the exact spot Jesus delivered the message, the Catholic church has a nice church and grounds for us to reflect on them.  Bill did a great job delivering the message.

An hour away we went to the Dan Nature Reserve and Tel Dan.  Here we went through the stories of the bible with Jeroboam and Rehoboam.  We walked along the headwaters of the Jordan River and visited the city of Dan, viewing the main  gate which Abraham walked the=rough on his rescue of Lot some 3,000 years ago.

To end the day we visited Caesarea Philippi. Built to worship the pagan god Pan we toured the area and visited the far end of the area where King Agrippa II palace once stood. My favorite memory was this is the location where Peter answered Jesus... Who do you say I am? and Peter said. You are the Christ.
